B. and was promoted to Major; Was in many severe engagements - Port Gibson, Champion Hills, Vicksburg, Kenesaw Mountain, Peach Tree Creek, Siege of Atlanta, Jonesboro, and Nashville, was on staff duty of Gen. Leggett and Blair; was elected clerk of this Co. in 1865, re-elected 1869 and 1873, appointed postmaster here in 1877. Married Maria J. Pierce from Washington, N.Y. in 1858; They have 4 children.
