    Records of Allen L. Stratton:
    	In 1819 and 1820, Philyer Loop is recorded under the firm name and
    	style of "LOOP & RANSOM."  This appears to have been as merchants in 
    	partnership with Robert Ransom of Alburgh.  On 9 May 1821, Philyer
    	Loop forms a partnership with his son Joseph B. Loop, under the firm 
    	name and style of "P. LOOP & Son."  

    Letter from Pauline Tubbs, Alburgh, VT, town historian:
    	I did tour the Bush Cemetery recently and I found this in a couple
    	markers - a Joseph Loop - His wife Estelle Hall d. 3/29/1852, and
    	also this name Lizzie.  [Don't think this means Joseph is buried there.]

    Washington County Obituaries, microfilm at New York State Library,
    Albany, NY:
    	Joseph Loop died at his house in Troy Tuesday of last week aged
    	67 years.  He at one time owned and kept the Hotel now kept by
    	R. F. Cowan at Middle Falls, and sold the same to Robert Hamilton,
    	and removed with his family to Troy over twenty years ago, where
    	he has since resided.  He is survived by his two sons George and
    	Bailey.  George is a printer and is employed in A. Mekin's job
    	office in Troy.  5 Mch 1891.
